Can I use a few bars from another creator’s work?

If the work is protected, you must obtain the prior permission of the original work’s rights holders. TONO will be happy to help you find out whom you must contact in this respect.

If the work is no longer protected by copyright, i.e. the original creator(s) have been dead for more than 70 years, you are free to use the material.
